Kilachand's Beach House

The estate on which the beach house is built is a coconut plantation where a plinth existed, with the longer side facing the Indian Ocean. It has a symmetrical plan with a long living cum dining space, 4 bedrooms with attached bathrooms and a kitchen and servants room. The structure is load bearing walls with a pitched wooden roof with terracotta tiles. The central arched wall between the living and dining areas and corner stone pilasters are important design features. The furniture is a mix of antique and reproduced pieces. Vibrant fabrics and art add colour to the space.
